Gornik and Drucker is a prestigious Barber Shop that has been in Beverly Hills since 1936. It is now located in the luxurious Montage Beverly Hills Hotel.Gornik and Drucker offers professional full service barbering, straight edge shaves, hair cuts, and shoe shines. These services are done in the true tradition of barbering. They are the perfect combination for an upcoming event, a relaxing treat, or a regular part of your grooming. William Gornik takes great pride that the services are the same quality and expertise that only experienced barbers could perform.It was the combination of his own shop Rothchilds, and a local shop Druckers that created Gornik and Drucker in 1989. His shops clientele included Clark Gable, Tyrone Power, Spencer Tracy, Cecil B DeMille, Ronald Reagan, Orson Wells, Frank Sinatra, George Raft, Bugsy Siegel, Mickey Cohen, Lew Wasserman, Billy Wilkerson and the list goes on. With such a history you would think that William has now become the celebrity. Numerous articles have been written featuring him, to television appearances, but he maintains that it is not about him it is about the client. His focus is about the shave and the importance of bringing good grooming back to men. Underline Gornik and Drucker Presidential ShaveIt begins with a steamed hot towel to relax and soften the beard. The shave soap is then worked into lather for the straight edge razor shave. Then face is massaged with custom blended butter to moisturize the skin. Manipulations are performed to energize and rejuvenate the skin. Finished off with a cold towel, splash is then applied to calm the skin.45-50 min Gornik and Drucker Governor ShaveIt begins with a steam towel to relax and soften the beard. Followed with our custom shaving cream and a straight edge razor shave. To complete our shave, an antiseptic splash, chosen by the barber based on your skin type is applied to replenish its natural moisture. 30 min Rodeo Drive, Haircut and Shave A complete grooming, incorporating both of the treatments listed below. A Presidential shave and full service haircut, manicure, and a shoe shine. 60-90 ,minutes Full Service HaircutDeep cleanse shampoo, steam towel conditioning, precision haircut, and the finishing touches. 30-40 min Manicure Shaping the nails, followed by a soaking in warm water to soften the cuticles, hand massage and finishes with a buffing of the nails. 25-30 min $30Pedicure Shaping the nails, followed by a foot soak, and a true pampering of the feet. 30-40 min $45
Scalp TreatmentBegins with a warm towel around the head and neck to ease tension and open the pores. This is followed by European neck and scalp massage, using custom blended oils. Page 1 Gornik and Drucker Barber ShopGornik and Drucker is located in the Montage Beverly Hills Hotel, located at 225 N Canon Drive, Beverly Hills,CA. In a strange irony William has returned to the same location that was so monumental in his Barbering history.This is the same location that Gornik’'s Rothschild’s was located 222 Beverly Drive, Beverly Hills, CA. One of the most historical barber Shops until it closed in 1985.William Gornik of the Golden Razor, and Rothchilds, combined in 1989 with Harry Drucker of Waldorf Astoria, Sunset House, Rothchilds, and Druckers Barber Shop.William'’s shop ,Rothchild’s, and Harry’'s shop Drucker’s were rivals for years. It was not on the same level of the Bugsy Siegel, Mickey Cohen rivalry but you either went to Druckers or Rothchilds. Although William and Harry had great respect for each other their exchange was mostly limited to cordial exchanges at the Turf Club( at the race track). When Harry wanted to retire he contacted William. He said he was the only one that he would consider carrying on his tradition. William thought it was an honor. They combined and worked together for a few years. When Harry formally retired William still kept a chair available for him for whenever he wanted to come in. William gained such a respect for Harry it is the reason he still keeps the name along side his.William Gornik is known for his legendary shops in Men's Grooming and Barbering in Beverly Hills. He started at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel's Barber shop.He formed the Golden Razor until he acquired Rothchild’s in Beverly Hills. Rothchilds was originally Harry Druckers barber shop and was located above a very exclusive men's haberdashery called Jerry Rothschild's. This shop catered to the wealthy famous and powerful. When William acquired Rocthchilds from Harry Gelbart,Harry Gelbart’"s clientele was made up of famous people the likes of Edward G. Robinson, Gregory Peck, but most notably as history goes for having been a barber to JFK and Jack Ruby( who shot Lee Harvey Oswald). Harry Gelbart’s son was Larry Gelbart .Larry Gelbart was discovered by a client Danny Thomas and became a famous writer, most known for the series “MASH”. William took over this shop when Harry Gelbart retired and inherited clients Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, Desi Arnaz, George Hamilton and the list goes on.Harry Drucker started as a barber in New York . He was lured to Los Angeles when a customer , Billy Wilkerson, who started the Hollywood Reporter wanted him to come along. He was known as the Barber to the Stars. He founded Druckers Barber Shop at the Sunset House, and moved it to beverly Drive. Harry Gelbart was one of Harry's barbers until Harry got a notion to from his own shop, causing the "Barber Shop War" between the wto shops. Harry move his shop onto the corner of Linden and Wilshire, where it remained until it closed it's doors for good in 2009.Harry's clientele list was a who’s who in Hollywood. He catered to the famous, wealthy, and powerful. Clark Gable, Frank Sinatra, Tyrone Power, Danny Kaye, Spencer Tracy, Orson Welles, George Raft, Lew Wassermann, Jack Benny, George Burns, Armand Hammerand the list goes on. His most notorious clients were Bugsy Siegel ,and Mickey Cohen. He juggled appointments so they would not cross paths, until it got too much for him. He told Mickey Cohen that he just could not handle the two of them, Micket went to rival shop, Rothchild's. Harry said that day after Bugsy's death Mickey Cohen called up and made an appointment! It was in Ronald Reagan’'s early acting years that he first became a customer and stayed as a customer until he passed away. Harry invented the “invisible haircut”. Designed for actors who needed a trim but could not afford to look like they just had one due to their stints before the camera. Ronald Reagan relied on this technique in his early Hollywood and later political years. Harry Drucker passed away on May 13 , 1998, at the age of 91. William gained such respect for Harry Drucker in their years together it is the reason he still keeps the name alongside his.When William merged with Harry in 1989 he merged his clients with Harry’'s. The list was lengthy with Ronald Reagan still a customer until he passed away.Willim closed the original location on Wilshire Boulevard in December 2009. He said it was a difficult decision.It was even harder after the doors closed. His son,Gregory, who was managing that location at the time it closed swears you could feel the presence of spirits passed!

Page 2 William GornikI grew up in Wheeling , West Virgina. On a family trip to California as a child I thought I landed in paradise. I knew as soon as I was old enough I would come back to California. There was a position with Mattel toys. So I drive out on route 66 in my 1964 Corvette for the land of opportunity. The job fell through, but after a few weeks here my career goal changed and I had aspirations of being a Hollywood agent. My step in this direction was to work in the mail room for William Morris Agency, start at the bottom and work my way up. I loved it but it was not enough to pay the bills, I needed something to supplement my income. My mother owned a popular local hair Salon growing up. I walked into the Beverly Wilshire Barber Shop and asked to work there on weekends. Having been around this industry growing up it was a natural for me. Before I knew it I had my own clientele. When I started you had less time in the classroom, and more time working as an apprentice. I was a natural, but I still have a story or two from my early years. My hours spent in the afternoons and weekends helping my Mother paid off in helping to expedite my license. I was making more money on the weekends then a full week in the mail room. Mr. Florshiem of Florshiem shoes had a beautiful custom barber shop built behind his shoe store. The problem is he had no one to run it. One of my customers told him about me and I was offered the shop. It was my opportunity to be in business for myself and the rest is history. It was my first barber shop, The Golden Razor.Through the years independently and with other skilled barbers I have created the best Barber shops in Beverly Hills. I acquired Rothchilds Barber shop, from Harry Gelbart, Larry Gelbarts father. I had a shop with Aida Grey, she new Womans skin care but trusted me with Men. I acquired Harry Drukers shop when he wanted to retire . This came to be the shop I have now Gornik and Drucker. The first time someone wrote that I was a legend in Barbering it startled me, I thought I cant be a legend. I realized that I have seen all the different eras and have memories from them all so time definitely moves at a rapid pace. I am comfortable in the statement that I am an excellent Barber a legend is premature.Working on someone as closely as a Barber does requires a lot of trust. It is a very personal business. You acquire an understanding of not just what they want done this week to their hair, you understand what their lifestyles are and how I can help them make an impression. I learned my skill from experience. The benefit of where I am now is the experience and the wisdom that comes with time. When a client tells me he had a rough day, I understand what a rough day can be and how I can help. My early years I cut hair and did shaves, now I do the same but have a much larger understanding of the person. My focus now is to continue the tradition of barbering and most importantly, the shave. The services at the Barber shop are designed around years of grooming men. The barbering business has been very good to me. I could not find another business that combines the feeling of people getting together, where it is not work, and your clientele are friends. It is like having family and friends always around. I tell my sons be careful what you do, you just might do it for the rest of your life. I hope they are as fortunate as I am.William Gornik resides in Beverly Hills. He has two sons. In his free time he loves to Bike ride and is a boating enthusiast.

Page 3 Gregory Gornik, Operations ManagerGregory is the son of William Gornik. He was born and raised in Beverly Hills. He grew up around the Barber Shop. He would go there after school, run in to get money from his Dad. He always said when he grew up he would never work in the Barber shop, too many days of his Dad making him sweep the floors! He took a break from his studies to assist his father when he opened a second location. William does not make him sweep the floors anymore; he relies on him for much more. He took over the running of the Original location at 9740 Wilshire Blvd when William opened in The Montage Hotel. After the Wilshire Boulevard location closed he joined William at The Montage Hotel, and continues to be his Operations Manager. He takes care of day to day activities, as well as the planning of large parties and events for the Barber Shop.Gregory loves to travel. He has been to numerous places around the world. His most memorable was the months he spent working with orphans in Nepal. Gregory has always been interested in Design. He has attended the Los Angeles Institute of Architect and Design. Working in the shop has inspired an interest in product development. He was an avid Lacrosse player in his school years. His sport interests have changed to include soccer. He has recently been involved in the forming of a soccer league, Wilshire Athletics. Gregory Gornik resides in Beverly Hills. He plays soccer, and travels at every opportunity.
